UK Riding & Licence Information
The NECO GPX RS is a road-legal 50cc moped suitable for UK CBT riders aged 16 and over.
Riding Requirements
- Riders aged 16+ can ride this moped after completing a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) course.
- A CBT certificate is required to ride on public roads and must be renewed every 2 years.
- L-plates must be displayed unless the rider is exempt under UK licence rules.
Full UK Car Licence Holders
- If you passed your car driving test before 1 February 2001, you may be entitled to ride a 50cc moped without L-plates and without completing CBT.
- If you passed your driving test on or after 1 February 2001, you must complete CBT before riding a 50cc moped.

- A moped is defined as a two vehicle with an engine size up to 50cc and a maximum design speed of 28 mph (45 km/h).
- Riders must have the correct licence entitlement (Category AM or equivalent) to ride legally.
